FAQ

Answers to common questions about wallets, contracts, permissions, and more.

General

How do I top up my wallets?

Go to Billing in the sidebar. Select the wallet you want to top up, choose a package, and complete the payment. Service credits are purchased as packages. The Duty Wallet can be funded via bank transfer or online payment.

Why was my contract rejected?

Open the contract and check the error message. Common reasons include:

  • Missing required information (such as party details or contract date)
  • Invalid document format (only PDF files are accepted)
  • Insufficient wallet balance
  • For 2026+ employment contracts: missing wage details

Can I edit a contract after submitting it?

No. Once a contract is submitted (moved to Confirmed status), it can no longer be edited. However, you can recall it if it has not yet moved to Processing status. Recalling returns the contract to Pending so you can make changes and resubmit. See Submitting and Recalling.

How long does stamping take?

Most contracts are completed within 24 to 48 hours. More complex cases may take longer. You can track progress on your Dashboard or in the contract list.

I have old contracts from 2023 to 2025. Will I be charged a late penalty?

Not if you submit and pay before the deadline. There is a special remission for contracts dated between 1 January 2023 and 31 December 2025. As long as the contract is submitted and the duty is paid on or before 30 June 2026, the late penalty is fully waived. After that date, standard penalty rates apply. See Late Penalty Remission for details.

Wallets and Billing

What is the difference between Service Credits and the Duty Wallet?

  • Service Credits cover the platform processing fee (1 credit per contract, regardless of type or value).
  • Duty Wallet holds the funds for government stamp duty (the amount varies by contract type and value).

They serve different purposes and are funded separately.

What are Exemption Credits for?

Exemption Credits are used for employment contracts that qualify for a stamp duty exemption. Instead of paying duty from the Duty Wallet, the system deducts 1 Exemption Credit. See Employment Contract Rules for the conditions that qualify a contract for exemption.

Why are there three separate wallets?

Service Credits cover Kenal Stamps' platform fee. The Duty Wallet holds government stamp duty funds. Exemption Credits handle duty-exempt employment contracts. Keeping them separate makes it clear where each ringgit goes and simplifies financial reconciliation.

Contracts

What if the document extraction got something wrong?

You can edit all extracted fields while the contract is in Pending status. Review the party details, contract date, and contract value carefully before submitting. See Uploading Contracts.

How do I know if an employment contract qualifies for exemption?

For contracts dated 1 January 2026 onwards, the system checks the employee's monthly base salary. If it is RM 3,000 or below, the contract is exempt and you will see an exemption badge on the contract. See Employment Contract Rules for the full rules by date.

What is the difference between Fixed Duty and Ad Valorem?

  • Fixed Duty is a flat RM 10 charge regardless of contract value. Used for employment contracts and documents with no fixed monetary value.
  • Ad Valorem is calculated as a percentage of the contract value. Used for loan agreements, tenancy agreements, and other contracts with a specific monetary amount.

See How Duty Is Calculated for the full explanation.

Permissions and Access

I cannot see a feature or I'm getting an access error. What should I do?

Your role determines what features and data you can access. Contact your Organization Admin and ask them to check your role and permission settings. They can adjust your access from the Organization section.

How do I find out what permissions I have?

Your permissions are determined by the role assigned to you. If you're not sure what role you have, ask your Organization Admin. They can view your role and its associated permissions in the Organization section under Users.

What is the difference between Own, Department, and Organization scope?

  • Own means you can only see data you personally created.
  • Department means you can see everything in your assigned department.
  • Organization means you can see everything across the entire organization.

See Roles and Permissions for a full breakdown.
