Uploading Contracts

How to upload documents, review extracted data, and prepare contracts for submission.

This page walks you through the upload and review process, from selecting your files to getting the contract ready for submission.

Choosing a Category

From the Contracts section in the sidebar, choose the category that matches your contract:

CategoryWhen to use it
Fixed DutyEmployment contracts and documents with no fixed monetary value (flat RM 10 duty)
Ad ValoremContracts with a monetary value where duty is calculated as a percentage (tenancy, loan, service agreements)

Not sure which to pick? See How Duty Is Calculated or the guide for your specific contract type.

Uploading Files

  1. Click Upload Contract in the chosen category.
  2. Select one or more PDF files from your computer.
  3. Choose the document type (e.g., Employment Contract, Tenancy Agreement, Loan Agreement).
  4. Click Submit to start the upload.

You can upload up to 60 similar documents in a single batch. All documents in the batch should be the same document type.

You can also start an upload from the Add New card on your Dashboard.

AI Extraction and Review

After upload, the system uses AI to extract key information from your PDF. The contract moves through Queued (extraction in progress) to Pending (ready for review).

Once the contract is in Pending status, open it to review the extracted data:

  • Party details such as names, addresses, and identity numbers
  • Contract date (important because it affects penalty calculations)
  • Contract value (for ad valorem contracts)
  • Rent or salary details (for tenancy or employment contracts)

Editing Extracted Data

If the AI got something wrong, you can edit any field while the contract is still in Pending status.

Pay special attention to:

  • The contract date, since a wrong date could trigger unnecessary late penalties
  • The contract value, since it directly affects the duty calculation for ad valorem contracts
  • Party information, since this appears on the final stamp certificate

Checking the Duty Estimate

On the right side of the review screen, you will see the duty calculation showing the base duty, any duplicate fees, and any late penalty. Verify this looks correct before proceeding.

Once everything looks right, you're ready to submit for stamping.
